Wes McMurray will assume the role of Senior Pastor at Bahama Baptist Church in January, 2010. He is a graduate of Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary. He previously served as a chaplain and Bible teacher at Gaston Christian School in Gastonia, NC, and as a youth pastor at First ARP Church in Gastonia. In 2009, he published a book about the immeasurable love of God called, "Beyond All Measure." He and his wife Jennifer have two children, Owen & Elliott.
Personal:
Wes and his wife Jennifer are originally from Johnson City, TN. They met in high school, and got married on June 1st, 2002.
Passion:
Wes's passion is to see Jesus magnified. His desire is to glorify God and to equip other Christians to do the same. He is passionate about communicating the Word of God to people with the desire to see the lost come to Christ and for Christians to grow in the grace and knowledge of Jesus Christ.
Education & Background:
Wes graduated Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary in 2004. In college, he attended East Tennessee State University, Fruitland Baptist Bible Institute and Southeastern College. His degrees are in Religion/Church Ministries and Biblical Studies.
Other interesting facts:
Wes loves to read...he constantly has a book close by. He also is a big sports fan. His favorite hobby is to spend time with his family.
